Mothering Sunday 2022

Treat your mam to a special day out at Beamish this Mothering Sunday!

Join us to discover the traditions of the day and get involved with fun-filled family activities.

  • Make a lavender bag in The 1900s Town.
  • Join in with card making in the 1950s Welfare Hall and see a collection of cards from our archive on display in No.2 Front Street on our 1950s Front Street Terrace.
  • Make a quilled flower picture in The 1900s Pit Village School and watch a pit wife make traditional Simnel in preparation for Easter cake over in the Francis Street pit cottages.
  • Up at Orchard Cottage, you can draw a card then walk across to our newest exhbit, Spain’s Field Farm to have a go at straw flower making.
  • At Pockerley Old Hall you can get green fingered and plant a seed or bulb to take home.

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event. All visitors aged five and over will need to pre-book an entry timeslot online and also require a valid Beamish Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership (these can be purchased online with timeslot). Book your timeslot here
