Part Time 3 days a week

Applications are invited for the above post from a motivated team player with a flexible and hands on approach to school engagement.  The Learning Co-ordinator will have experience of delivering to school groups linked to the STEM curriculum.  The post holder will run projects that help Beamish connect with schools from communities across the North East in a lively and entertaining way, using the Museum’s science and industry collections and facilities within the Regional Heritage Engineering Centre (RHEC) to assist in the development and delivery of inspiring and engaging learning activities which link with the STEM curriculum and uphold the Reece Foundation’s ethos of supporting excellence in engineering education and developing enterprise in the North East.

The Learning Co-ordinator will work alongside the existing Part time Learning Co-ordinator (STEM) under the supervision of the Head of Learning and with the Transport and Industry Team and the Events Officers to use Beamish and its collections as a tool to increase participation by schools, young people, families and businesses in STEM related events and festivals at the Museum. A particular focus for this post is the development of family learning across the museum.
