Beamish tells the story of everyday working life in the North East – bringing the rich social, agricultural and industrial heritage of our region to life in a living, working, open air museum. We are self-sustaining with a large, growing and diverse audience of 500,000 people per year. Our connection with local people and communities provides the inspiration for our purpose; and the source of our strength and resilience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and organised individual to join the team and fill the post of Community Events Officer.

The successful post holder will build genuine, sustainable community participation with Beamish, embedding it into the museum’s events and festivals programme to help reach more people and enhance the scale and sustainability of our programme. The post holder will plan and deliver community involvement in innovative and engaging ways, working closely with the Historic Events Officer and Engagement Team, as well as partners in other museums, to help Beamish represent the stories of diverse communities for our visitors.
