Dementia Action Week 2024

Discover the work of the Health and Wellbeing Team

Find out more about the work of the museum’s award-winning Health and Wellbeing Team at the Clover Cottage open day from 10am on Monday, 13th May.

The Health and Wellbeing Team runs activities for people living with dementia and long-term health conditions, as well as to help with mental health, loneliness and isolation from Clover Cottage in The 1950s Town.

Visit Clover Cottage, which is usually closed to the public, and find out more about what the Health and Wellbeing Team does. There will also be an opportunity to meet representatives from a number of local organisations, who will be on hand to share information about their organisations and offer additional support and information.

Dance the afternoon away!

Enjoy an afternoon of 1950s music and dance and join in with a Tea Dance in the 1950s welfare hall from 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Monday, 13th May.

Forget Me Not Walk

Join us on the Forget Me Not Walk to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society on Friday, 17th May from 6pm.

Enjoy the amazing surroundings of Beamish Museum after hours with entertainment to help us along as we support such an amazing cause.

The Forget Me Not Walk follows a circular 1.5mile route around the museum site, starting and ending at the Entrance. This walk is suited to all ages and abilities and refreshments will be available to participants.

Although this is not a sponsored walk, the Health and Wellbeing Team would appreciate any donations which can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. There will be collection buckets around site and badges for sale. Cash is preferred for donations and badge sales.
