23rd, 24th & 26th December

Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th & Thursday 26th December

  • In the Dentist’s waiting room, Christmas cracker activities are on the go.
  • Have a go at making a paper lantern or felt tree decoration in the School.
  • In No.3 Francis Street try some ginger wine and Christmas cake.
  • Stop by the Printer’s and pick up a copy of a festive poster.
  • Take a look around our Open Stores in the Regional Resource Centre
  • Please note there will be no railway operations on the 26th December.
  • Put your skates on our very own real outdoor ice rink in the Pit Village.

New Year Traditions at Beamish - 28th December to 5th January

Celebrate New Year Traditions at Beamish over at Pockerley Waggonway.

From the 28th December 2013, to the 5th January 2014, visitors will be able to:

  • Sample traditional food and drinks such as New Year’s Punch and Twelfth night cake in Light Tunnel of the Waggonway
  • Join in with traditional New Year Dances in the Great Shed
  • Listen to New Year Traditions and stories by the Fire in the Bothy

In addition the Steam Gallopers and Swing Boat will be running over these 7 days and there will catering facilities outside the Waggonway.

Brass Bands and Choirs

Please note: Bands usually perform in the Redman Park Bandstand in the Town, and Choirs in the Pit Village Chapel. All times are approximate, please check with at admissions on the day of your visit for exact times.
