Remaking Beamish Project – Part time Construction Buyer
£20,200 – £24,240 full time salary (part time will be pro-rata for 3-4 days). Starting point will be dependent on experience.

Unusually, we are undertaking the design and build elements of this project in-house so we are seeking an experienced Buyer to support the Construction Manager and work closely with our on-site Quantity Surveyor, Construction Planner and Architectural design team.
The ideal candidate will have worked previously for a building contractor or developer and come with a proven procurement back ground. The role will oversee the procurement of both heritage and standard building materials through identifying, negotiating and carrying out site visits to new suppliers, raising purchase orders, scheduling deliveries from technical drawings and raising tenders. An eye for quality and value as well as team working skills will ensure work programmes are delivered on time. Knowledge of working on heritage builds and with reclaimed materials would also be an advantage.
The contract is for a part time role (3-4 days per week) based at Beamish Museum, for a fixed-term until May 2020. Any questions regarding the role can be directed to michellelagar@beamish.org.uk
