An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Buildings Team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic hardworking individual who has a passion for traditional and modern techniques in both bench and site joinery, working within the joinery team in the Beamish joinery workshops and on construction sites within our Remaking Beamish project.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Remaking Beamish delivery team, working on a wide variety of carpentry, joinery woodwork and timberwork including making doors and windows, shop fitting, timber structural roof work; working with both new and reclaimed materials, leading by example and physically carrying out projects and supporting others (including apprentices) and supporting Health and Safety of workshops and construction sites; carrying out projects with traditional and modern techniques to ensure the highest possible quality standards with exceptional attention to detail.

Tasks will include using a range of industrial workshop equipment making box sash and casement windows, panelled doors, staircases, roof trusses and roof work, general site joinery both first and second fix to restoring and fitting shop interiors.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for joinery, a joinery qualification NVQ level 2 and above, a proven background in joinery and hold a valid CSCS skilled workers card.

This is a full time role for a fixed-term until May 2023.
