Bench/Site Joinery Apprentice

Duration 2 years – working 37 hours per week including release to college 1 day per week

£3.50-£8.10 per hour depending on age and experience

 

An exciting training opportunity has arisen to undertake a joinery apprenticeship with the opportunity to work on both bench joinery projects in our onsite workshop and also gain site joinery skills on our museum construction sites.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who has a passion for developing their skills in a broad range of joinery projects. Apprentices will work alongside experienced tradesmen to gain on the job experience in timber preparation, carpentry repair, maintenance and second fix site based projects. The role will involve working a wide range of new and replacement fixing from standard sash to box sash windows, panelled doors, staircases, interior fittings, panelling, shop fronts and roof structures.

The role will include part-time release to a local college to work towards a recognised apprenticeship framework in construction (wood occupations). Those with limited wood work experience will be enrolled onto a level 2 programme in wood occupations; candidates with previous experience will progress onto a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Bench or site joinery.
