Free twilight taster session on Wednesday, 17th September, 3.30-5.15pm
Find out about Georgian life in the North East and the impacts of early industrialisation. Experience how you can bring this period to life with your class.
- Have a go at throwing a pot on the wheel in the pottery.
- Discover the impacts of the development of the railways.
- Find out about the human impacts of the coal mining industry.
- Experience enquiry-based learning activities.

Overnight Stays at Beamish Museum: A Unique Learning Experience

Would you like to bring your class to Beamish Museum for an immersive overnight stay experience? Come to our teacher information event to find out more.
Sleepovers take place in historically-themed locations, including the 1900s Masonic Hall, the 1950s welfare hall or traditional bell tents on the Fairground field.
Visits include:
- A guided evening walk through the museum’s grounds.
- Structured indoor or outdoor activities.
- The chance to sing and tell stories around a campfire with hot chocolate.
