Beamish Museum is looking to commission an external provider to deliver a high quality and efficient waste service.
This includes general and recyclable waste collections, including glass and food waste, from set collection points around the museum site. We require an efficient, inclusive service so that we:
a) meet the needs required of each area of the museum
b) ensure a first-class service for our visitors, staff and volunteers
c) maintain health and safety standards
We are seeking to set up a contract for waste collection and removal for the following areas of the site: Main Entrance, 1900s Town, 1950s Town, Regional Resource Centre, Home Farm, Events Field, Pit Village, and Drovers Tavern
Bidders are asked to submit a formal tender for a Waste Removal Services contract to supply and maintain a full range of waste and recyclable bins, as required by each of the above areas. We require weekly visits to all named sites to collect, remove and dispose of waste. We also require the inclusion of an on-demand service whereby we can request additional bin collections at peak times.
A key deliverable is that Beamish Museum is provided with a transparent service throughout the duration of the contract. We require access to clear, accurate and real time information which records and details the services provided. This information is to be provided with weekly service reports and a record keeping system so that information of any visits, collections made etc. can be easily accessed and reported.
Regular communication is key, and we would expect the successful company to be in regular contact in the form of bi-monthly meetings.
As we are a living, working museum, it is imperative that the successful company are able to work around our hours of operation to ensure an efficient service is provided.
