The Christmas gifts are inspired by Beamish’s collections and exhibits, and are available from our online shop or can be purchased during a visit to the museum. Beamish is a charity and every purchase supports the museum and is hugely appreciated.

Beamish Bars of Soap

Treat yourself or your loved ones to some “me time” this Christmas with our new luxury soap bars – the perfect gift or stocking filler!

Made using the traditional cold-process soap-making method, the handmade bars look as great as they smell.

Choose from: Beamish Coal, made with activated charcoal and scented with basil, sage and mint; Pockerley Lavender, infused with lavender essential oils and sea salt; or Christmas Clementine, scented with sweet orange, with soft grape and floral notes.

Jubilee Confectioners Sweet Treats

Bring Beamish’s famous sweet shop to your own home, with an exclusive Jubilee Confectioners reusable tin filled with your choice of scrumptious sweets. The beautiful tin is based on an original design in the museum’s collections, will you fill it with bon bons, Beamish Mix, jelly babies, rhubarb and custards, pear drops or soor plooms?!

Jute Bag

Perfect for all your Edwardian essentials! Our new jute bags are made with sustainable jute fabric and feature artwork designed by hand in the 1900s print shop. They make a great gift or can be used to carry all your beautiful Beamish-inspired yuletide treats!

Christmas Tree and Gingerbread Decorations

These traditional-looking Christmas decorations are the perfect additions to your tree!

Made out of pewter, you can choose from a smiley gingerbread ornament, complete with silver buttons, or a decorated Christmas tree with a star on the top. Both hang on a red ribbon.

Christmas Beamish Jigsaw

With our new Christmas jigsaw you can bring a festive piece of the museum to your own home – 1,000 of them to be exact!

Featuring a snowy scene of the front of the Co-op and the beautiful Armstrong Whitworth car, the picture-perfect puzzle is sure to keep you busy over the Christmas period. There are also designs featuring The 1900s Town, Co-op hardware store and four festive scenes at the museum.

The puzzles are produced by one of the UK’s few remaining jigsaw puzzle manufacturers, the puzzle boards and boxes are made from recycled card. The paper for the photograph is FSC certified and the glue is starch based, all of which helps to reduce the carbon footprint of these products.

1,000 pieces, the size of this puzzle once completed is around 69cm x 48cm. £23.50 each.

Luxury Box of Chocolates

Beamish visitors often admire the beautiful chocolate boxes in Jubilee Confectioners window display and now, for the first time, the museum is selling a luxury box of chocolates – the perfect festive gift!

The beautifully-designed purple box with decorative gold writing includes 12 delicious individual chocolates, with flavours including chocolate brownie truffle, milk caramel heart, coconut cream and strawberries and cream truffle.

Bakery Tea Towel

This 100% cotton, bakery-inspired tea towel is the perfect present for budding bakers! It shows a page from A R Wood and Co trade catalogue from Beamish’s collection.

Featuring baking utensils including cream horn and cherry cake tins and cream bun coffins and fancy cake moulds, it’s sure to inspire you or the baker you know to create a mouth-watering masterpiece! Made in the UK.

Jubilee Confectioners’ Hot Chocolate

Perfect for those cosy Christmas nights in! Our delicious new hot chocolate is produced by a local company and is inspired by the 1828 Dutch method for making hot chocolate from cocoa powder. The artwork is based on originals in the collection and is inspired by Edwardian produce in our Co-op store in The 1900s Town.

1905 Cadbury Chocolate Bars

For the chocolate-obsessed family member or friend… buy delicious Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate wrapped in 1905 design packaging. The replica wrapping is inspired by original packaging from the museum’s collection and has been made in a collaboration between Beamish and Cadbury.

Fun fact – the name “Dairy Milk” was suggested by a customer’s daughter after George Cadbury Junior was given the task to develop a milk bar with more milk than anything else on the market. Dairy Milk launched in June 1905 and was Cadbury’s best seller by the start of the First World War. Beamish is now selling Cadbury’s chocolate wrapped in the design that featured on this first ever Dairy Milk chocolate bar!

Herron’s Bakery Treats

As well as brownies and gingerbread, we are selling scrumptious Christmas cake and Beamish firelighters on our online shop – perfect for the festive season!

Made on site in our bakery in The 1900s Town, the tea time treats come wrapped in Herron’s Bakery-branded greaseproof paper and are presented in a beautifully-designed keepsake tin, so they also make a great gift!

We recommend enjoying the delicious firelighters within seven days and the Christmas cake within three months.
