Visit our 1940s Farm to learn about life in the British countryside during the Second World War.
Highlights include:
- Collect your ID card and get it checked at our 1940s checkpoint.
- Enjoy a host of musical performances throughout the weekend (see below for more details)
- Have a go at our aircraft recognition activity.
- Try your hand at cracking our Morse code and Enigma activities in Orchard Cottage.
- See fantastic displays including army camps, Lumberjill activities, period vehicles and Home Front re-enactments.
- Waste not, want not with our apple press activity in the farmhouse.
- Enjoy a special opportunity to get a 1940s hairstyle with our hairdressing experience at the Land Girls’ Cottage (small extra fee applies) and learn about 1940s make up.
- See the blacksmith hard at work at the forge.
- In the farmhouse kitchen, learn about jam making and try our ‘make do and mend’ activities.
