Christmas Victorian Lessons

Experience a traditional lesson of reading, writing, arithmetic and drill. Children will sit in rows and use pens and ink to do their work. Smart, sensible and silent – they will be expected to behave as though they were Victorian children (although a degree of flexibility will be employed). This workshop will take place in The 1900s Pit Village school at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm. £2.50 per child per session, pre-booking essential. Suitable for ages 7+.

Playhouse Tales

Groups of children get the opportunity to work together and put on a Christmas performance using a miniature stage and puppets. This workshop will take place in the Masonic Hall at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. £2.50 per child per session, pre-booking essential. Suitable for ages 6+.

Traditions of Christmas

Come and visit a household preparing for Christmas in a time when celebrations were simpler, gifts homemade and children hoped to find an orange and a handful of nuts in their stocking. This workshop will take place at Pockerley Old Hall at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2pm. £2.50 per child per session, pre-booking essential. Suitable for ages 4-7.
