There’ll be something for all the family during Beamish Museum’s fantastic February Half Term!
During this event we’ll be exploring childhood and toys, as well as celebrating the museum’s 50th anniversary. Enjoy birthday parties in each of our areas across site and join in with party games, celebrations and birthday cakes.
See an exhibition of 50 objects from the museum’s collections in the Entrance building. From clocks and Georgian calendars to a Paralympic torch and a pair of high-heeled wellies – there’ll be a whole host of fascinating objects to see!
Try your hand at embroidery, play parlour games, try on costume and sample celebration tea and candied fruit at 1820s Pockerley.
Play Edwardian party games in the Masonic Hall in The 1900s Town and get creative as you take part in party-themed craft activities. In the dentists waiting room and Miss Smith’s there will be birthday parties.
Make your own party decorations and birthday cards in The 1900s Pit Village and pop into the band hall for birthday celebrations.
Take part in a game of pass the parcel at 11am and 2pm at The 1940s Farm and play with traditional wooden toys from the time.
The party will be in full swing in the 1950s welfare hall! Play classic 1950s games including pin the tail on the donkey, musical statues and group games – there’ll be prizes for the best dancers so practise your moves before you visit! Help us make Beamish Jubilee birthday bunting by recording your best birthday memories.
