Join us for a magical evening of traditional festive celebrations with Beamish Christmas Evenings on 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th December 2021, from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.

Discover a wonderful Christmas past – admire the beautiful decorations, taste scrumptious seasonal food, have a go at creative Christmas crafts, enjoy festive music, Punch and Judy shows and see magical reindeer at the museum.

Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto at Rowley Station Goods Yard (Grotto tickets must be booked in advance online when purchasing evening tickets, subject to availability). Have a go on the rides at The Fairground, visit the stalls in The 1900s Town for all your Edwardian essentials, pop up to Pockerley to learn about a traditional Georgian Christmas and explore Christmas festivities in The 1900s Pit Village and 1950s welfare hall.

Discover how the festive season was celebrated from the 1820s right the way through to the 1950s with a special Christmas Evening at Beamish – the perfect way to count down to the big day!

This is a separate ticketed evening event ­– Beamish Unlimited Passes and Friends of Beamish memberships are not valid for evening events.

Christmas daytimes at Beamish will take place starting in late November (pre-booked timeslots essential) – further details will be announced soon!

Event Information/Terms and Conditions

Tickets for Christmas Evening entry and Father Christmas’ Grotto must be pre-booked online (subject to availability) and will not be available to buy at the museum. Beamish Unlimited Passes and Friends of Beamish memberships are not valid for evening events.

The safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our first priority as always, and we continue to have a range of COVID-19 Secure measures in place, in line with industry best practice and guidance from the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.

Please allow other visitors enough space to enjoy their visit.

Payments by card/contactless only.

Free parking is available in the main car park.

No dogs are allowed, except for assistance dogs.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors are advised to wrap up warm, bring a torch and wear sturdy footwear.

Christmas Evening tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event.
