Christmas at Beamish

Every day, 10am to 4pm from 16th November to 24th December.

Taste scrumptious seasonal cooking and be amazed as your favourite parts of the museum are beautifully decorated for the festive season. Savour the aroma of delicious home-baked goods cooking on the range, listen to merry music and try your hand at traditional crafts.

Start your own special family traditions and tick off important Christmas to-dos before the big day – no festive season is complete without a visit to Father Christmas, or even a spin on our real ice rink! From Georgian times right the way through to the 1950s, be immersed in an enchanting Christmas through time at Beamish.

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Passes to enjoy Christmas at Beamish.

Father Christmas’ Grotto
Meet Father Christmas in his cosy Grotto and say hello to his friendly reindeer at Pockerley Waggonway. £6 per child includes a small, traditional gift. Grotto tickets can be purchased at the Entrance on the day of your visit, on a first come, first served basis.

Beamish Bazaar
Whether you’re looking for that perfect gift, or would simply like to treat yourself, you’re sure to find something special amongst the delightful decorations, traditional trinkets and festive food at our Christmas Bazaar in The 1900s Town park. The stalls will be open right up until Christmas Eve.

Ice Rink
Take to the ice on our real ice rink to perfect your skating skills!
Adult £5, child £4 for a 20 minute session. Tickets available from the Winter Fun Fair on the day.
Skates available from child size 8. Special offer – for every paying adult skater, one child skates free of charge.

Fairground
Take a turn on our real, outdoor ice rink and sideshows, and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate.

NEW! 1950s Welfare Hall
Experience Beamish’s first 1950s Christmas in our new welfare hall. Enjoy festive games, crafts and music, and be sure to practise for the upcoming pantomime with the amateur dramatics society.

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event (small extra charges apply, detailed above).
