Beamish Folk

Sun, 13th Oct :: 11.30am-1.30pm

Beamish Folk is a new folk music session taking place on the second Sunday of each month in our 1900s Pit Village band hall, 11.30am-1.30pm.

Music will be performed by band members of Northern Roots – Bill Elliott and Kevin Youldon – with occasional guests and friends.

Northern Roots were the headline performers on the Main Stage at this year’s Durham Miners’ Gala.

Bill is the grandson of Jack Elliott and a member of the Elliott’s of Birtley, known and respected locally, nationally and internationally for their knowledge and performance of coal mining songs from the North East and further afield. Kevin has played music with Bill for over 30 years, in folk clubs, festivals and prestigious concerts.

All are welcome.
