Fixed term contract until 31 December 2016, working on an Arts Council England Creative People and Places funded programme in East Durham.

37 hours per week open to job share.  Due to nature of the role the hours of work will be variable and involve some evenings and weekends.

East Durham Creates is an Arts Council England-supported project, working across the East Durham area and aiming to get more people involved in arts and creative activity. We are working with residents to deliver an ambitious arts programme – every element of which is community-led in some way, and totally distinctive to the area – inspired by East Durham the place and by the people who live there.

East Durham Creates is seeking a resourceful, talented and motivated individual to play a key role in helping to deliver imaginative new ways to inspire East Durham residents to get involved in our wide-ranging programme. You’ll support the Programme Manager and Communications Manager in all marketing, community engagement and communications activities, to help ensure the smooth delivery of the East Durham Creates programme.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and communication skills, with experience of working in communities. You will have knowledge of working across all communications channels including print, web based promotion and digital and social media. You’ll also relish the challenges of balancing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.  An enthusiastic, motivated, ‘can do’ approach is essential.

East Durham Creates is one of 21 Creative People and Places projects nationally, funded by Arts Council England. It is managed by Beamish, Forma Arts, and East Durham Trust working in partnership and supported by Durham County Council via East Durham Area Action Partnership and Culture and Sport Services

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12 noon on Friday, 5th February 2016. Those shortlisted will be contacted by Tuesday, 9th February 2016.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday, 16th February 2016 at East Durham Creates, Community House, Yoden Way, Peterlee SR8 5DP.
