Beamish is seeking to appoint:

Learning Coordinator (STEM) (3 year contract funded by the Reece Foundation (£17,714 - £24,472)

Applications are invited for the above post from a motivated team player with a flexible and hands on approach to school engagement. The Learning Coordinator (STEM) will be an experienced schools practitioner with a great knowledge of the STEM curriculum. The post holder will be responsible for leading projects that help Beamish connect with schools from communities across the North East in a lively and entertaining way, using the Museum’s science and industry collections and facilities within the Regional Heritage Engineering Centre (RHEC) to develop and deliver inspiring and engaging learning activities which link with the STEM curriculum and uphold the Reece Foundation’s ethos of supporting excellence in engineering education and developing enterprise in the North East.

The Learning Co-ordinator (STEM) will also work closely with the Transport and Industry Team and the Events Officers to use Beamish and its collections as a tool to increase participation by schools, young people, families and businesses in STEM related events and festivals at the Museum, and with the Partnerships Team, to develop links with the Business Friends of Beamish with an interest in engineering/ manufacturing.

Partnerships Officer and Partnerships Assistant

Two opportunities have arisen to join Beamish's Partnership and Communications Team at an exciting stage in the Museum's development. Thanks to major funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund we are embarking on a transformational £17 million project featuring innovative developments such as a 1950s Town and farm, museum exhibits offering overnight accommodation for visitors and a dedicated centre for people living with dementia.

Partnerships Officer (£27,924 - £29,558)

As Partnerships Officer, you will support the Assistant Director – Partnerships and Communications in the management and co-ordination of Beamish’s regional, UK and EU partnership programmes. You will also take a leading role in managing the research, planning and application process for Beamish’s fundraising programme, delivering to ambitious targets as part of the Remaking Beamish project, with a particular focus on bids to trusts and foundations.

Dynamic, creative and hardworking, you will have outstanding communication skills, with a flair for writing for a range of audiences and purposes. You will bring to the role proven experience of building new partnerships and fundraising, ideally in the cultural sector. An excellent project manager with a demonstrable track record of working with a wide variety of stakeholders, we also expect you to have impressive attention to detail and a talent for multi-tasking. With strong negotiation skills, you're quick to build relationships and your natural aptitude for collaboration and innovation will see you contribute effectively to future development programmes at the museum. You will have experience of managing staff, complex projects and budgets, and you will connect with our partners, developing strong, long term relationships.

Partnerships Assistant (£17,714 - £22,212)

As Partnerships Assistant, you’ll provide highly effective administrative and organisational support to Beamish’s Partnerships function, helping us to build and extend our network of relationships and partnerships. You will also be an invaluable source of support and assistance with Beamish’s fundraising programme - researching prospective sources of funding, preparing information for funding applications and reporting back to funding bodies. Coordinating logistics and supporting the delivery of stakeholder events is also part of the brief – and we expect the highest possible attention to detail.

You'll have experience of organising and planning work, and of providing administration in an office environment. With a natural talent for building relationships, you'll have previous work experience with a focus on partnerships, fundraising or relationship management. You will have thorough and effective research skills and the ability to think creatively about potential sources of support for Beamish. A self-starter, with the ability to juggle priorities, you'll be able to write fluently and for a variety of audiences and purposes. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will play a key role in supporting us to extend and deepen relationships with our varied community of stakeholders.
