Read all about it! Beamish Magazine brings you the latest news, features and behind-the-scenes stories from the museum.

The Summer 2017 issue reveals the first building we will be replicating for the Remaking Beamish project – Joseph Hedley’s cottage, better known as Joe the Quilter, is to be built in our Georgian Landscape as part of the £18million project, which has received £10.9million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

Read all about our fantastic events – Empire and Flag Weekend saw the biggest parades we’ve ever had at the museum, plus there’s plenty of upcoming events to look forward to, including the popular Festival of 50s!

We also have a new Food Blog, written by Katherine Hindmarch in the Food Team, where you can find out about all the delicious goings-on at the museum, plus visitors will start to see the “Made by Beamish” stamp on a growing number of objects that have been skilfully made by museum staff – read more inside.

We also share the latest Friends of Beamish news, fantastic festival and events photos, latest additions to our collections, and visitors’ wonderful stories and pictures.

Beamish Magazine, priced £3, is printed quarterly and is free to Friends of Beamish members, see www.friendsofbeamish.co.uk, for more details. Buy the magazine from the Gift Shop or Stationer’s in The Town, or purchase online here!
