Reminiscence Loans Boxes

Beamish Museum has a variety of loans boxes which you can borrow free of charge to use with your group.

The boxes contain objects, photographs and ideas for how to stimulate activity and discussion around the contents.

Boxes can be borrowed for up to one month and should be booked in advance. You will need to collect the box from the Regional Resource Centre at Beamish Museum and return it when you have finished with it.

The themes of the boxes are:

  • Toys and games
  • Costume
  • The seaside
  • A Man’s World
  • Domestic Life
  • War
  • Nights Out
  • Events (coronations, royal weddings etc)

If you are unsure about how to run reminiscence activities please let us know and we will be more than happy to help you with your first session.

To find out more information or to book a box please contact Helen or Michelle at Beamish Museum on 0191 3704000 or you can e-mail us at michelleball@beamish.org.uk

To get to the Regional Resource Centre: Follow signs to Beamish Museum. At the mini roundabout in front of the main entrance turn left.
