Who’s Going to Mind the Bairn?

This innovative session allows students to explore a range of issues and attitudes surrounding sex and pregnancy. Students will explore these issues through role-play, investigating the story of a teenage mother and her abandoned baby at the end of the 19th century. Students will take the role of investigators, collecting clues and interviewing characters to determine what has happened to make the mother abandon her child.

Students will also decide the fate of the child, determining what should happen. This session ties into the KS3 curriculum around relationships and encourages students to use investigatory, team work and analytical skills.

Pre-visit and post-visit resources are available with this session.

Suitable for KS3 and KS4. Cost: £60* for 1 hour session - admission fee not included.
