Mothering Sunday 2022

Treat your mam to a special day out at Beamish this Mothering Sunday!

Join us to discover the traditions of the day and get involved with fun-filled family activities.

  • Make a lavender bag in The 1900s Town.
  • Join in with card making in the 1950s Welfare Hall and see a collection of cards from our archive on display in No.2 Front Street on our 1950s Front Street Terrace.
  • Make a quilled flower picture in The 1900s Pit Village School and watch a pit wife make traditional Simnel in preparation for Easter cake over in the Francis Street pit cottages.
  • Up at Orchard Cottage, you can draw a card then walk across to our newest exhbit, Spain’s Field Farm to have a go at straw flower making.
  • At Pockerley Old Hall you can get green fingered and plant a seed or bulb to take home.

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event.
