Come and view the Pit Village with an artists’ eye and learn the techniques of Observational Sketching!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw or wished you could brush up on your artistic skills? In the beautiful and unique setting of our Edwardian Pit Village join artist Yvonne Williamson as she teaches and supports you to realise your creative dreams! Suitable for complete beginners through to those who like to dabble, this is a unique experience influenced by the style and vision of the late local artist Norman Cornish, who was made famous by his striking ability to recreate the world around him and from whom we have a great insight into 1950s Spennymoor. You will see examples of his famous artwork, learn about the man himself and his techniques so that you too can begin to realise the ability of recreating what you see before you.
