Heavy Horse Experience

£65 per person (refreshments included)

Ever wondered what the working life of a heavy horse was like in days gone by? If so, then our Heavy Horse Experience could be just what you are looking for and offers a unique opportunity to discover more about the role a heavy horse plays at Beamish, working alongside our Horse Operations Team in their daily duties.

Whether you are a novice or experienced with horses, you will learn about the daily care of our horses and be shown how to harness a heavy horse for work and show, if required.

Courses can be tailored to suit individual requirements with prior knowledge and can be delivered for either agricultural work or town work if specified. Each course will fit into the Horse Teams daily work pattern and is dependent on site events and seasonality for agricultural interests.
