International Women's Day

8th - 10th March 2019

Discover the role of women in the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s as we celebrate International Women’s Day.

Grab a placard and take part in a Suffragette rally in The 1900s Town at 11am and 2pm each day. Help us secure votes for women!

Hear an Edwardian lady campaigning for women’s right to vote in the Pit Village.

The Beamish Choir will perform Suffragette songs at 12.30pm and 1.30pm in The Town on Saturday, 9th March.

On Sunday, 10th March, there will be a talk in The Pit Village chapel, “What Did You Do in the Great War, Mammy?” at 11.30am and 1pm.

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event.
