February Half Term - Norman Cornish and the Creative Arts

Sat 16th - Sun 24th Feb

Here at Beamish we work with communities across the North East in nearly all aspects of our work including our annual February Half Term project.

This year we invite you to explore the artwork of Norman Cornish and the Spennymoor Settlement, along with learning about the ways people were creative in the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 1950s. Have a go at sketching, proggy-mat making and other exciting activities across the museum.

We are working with local schools and communities in Peterlee, Newton Aycliffe and Spennymoor to explore and recreate the history and heritage of their communities, inspired by Norman’s work and the advice of Bill Farrell at the Spennymoor Settlement to ‘paint the world you know’.

All areas of the museum will be open from Saturday, 16th February to Sunday, 24th February including our real ice rink (small additional charge applies).

As with all daytime events, there is no extra charge for this event, why not use your Unlimited Pass?
