The Beamish Cog Railway is the world’s first 7 1/4″ gauge rack railway set within the grounds of the museum.
The volunteers at the railway operate the trains on most Saturdays, from 1pm until 4pm.
Find out when the trains are running by checking their Facebook page.
The Railway has two rides on offer to passengers, however the Cog Railway doesn’t operate as often – start your journey at the Regional Resource Centre. Small charge applies.
Please note, the Beamish Cog Railway is operated by museum volunteers and all running days are subject to staffing and the weather.
