It’s that time of year! Nights are drawing in, there’s frost on the ground and Christmas is just around the corner. And at Beamish, it’s the start of a whole season of Christmases past.
On Saturday 16th November 2013, Father Christmas is taking time out of his busy toy-making to launch the Beamish celebrations.
At 12 noon Father Christmas will be arrive on the Town Street in a beautiful period-style car, led by a parade of kings, camels, a couple of shepherds with their sheep and a donkey! Festive music will be provided by by Murton Colliery Band playing merry Christmas tunes, and carol singing from Beamish Youth Club Choir.
He’ll lead the countdown, switch on the Christmas tree lights and declare Christmas well and truly open. Then it’s off to his magical fireside Grotto at Pockerley Waggonway, where he’ll meet a host of boys and girls waiting to greet him.
What better way to count down to Christmas than by stepping into a winter wonderland at Beamish? Find plenty of festive fun and experience Christmas from days gone by.
Until Christmas Eve, visit Father Christmas in his magical fireside Grotto*, he’ll have a small gift for every child . Take a spin on the real ice rink* or enjoy a ride on the beautiful Victorian steam gallopers*.
