Mouth-watering Afternoon Tea at Beamish!
Served in period style, in the Cookson Room overlooking our award-winning Town, you can enjoy delicious, freshly made sandwiches, homemade scones, a selection of individual cakes from our very own Herron’s Bakery and, of course, tea or coffee.
Make the most of your day and explore the museum. Stroll down the cobbled street of The 1900s Town, visit the Edwardian shops and find out who lives in Ravensworth Terrace. Ride a steam train through the Georgian landscape and explore Pockerley Old Hall and its beautiful terraced gardens of Pockerley Old Hall. Call into the cottages to see how miners and their families lived in The 1900s Pit Village, learn your times tables in the school and meet the pit ponies. Take a trip underground with a guided tour of our drift mine. Experience life on the Home Front during the Second World War at The 1940s Farm and take part in fabulous 50s activities in the 1950s welfare hall, a replica of Leasingthorne Colliery Welfare Hall and Community Centre, near Bishop Auckland.
